Mushroom Biryani/Rice Recipe










Serves 3


Ingredients:


- 300 gms Mushrooms


- 2 medium-sized Onions


- 2 medium Tomatoes


- 2 Green Chilies


- Ginger Garlic Paste


- Biryani Spices (e.g., whole spices like cloves, cardamom, cinnamon)


- 2 tsp Chili Powder


- 2 tsp Coriander Powder


- 1 tsp Turmeric


- 1 tsp Biryani Masala


- 1 small cup Curd/Yogurt


- 3 tablespoons Ghee/Oil


- 1.5 cups Basmati Rice


- Salt to taste


- Mint leaves



Instructions:



1. Heat ghee or oil in a pressure cooker or a pan.


2. Add the dry biryani spices and sauté until fragrant.


3. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.


4. Stir in chopped green chilies and ginger garlic paste, sauté until raw smell dissipates.


5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.


6. Mix in chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric, and biryani masala. Stir well.


7. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until they release water.


8. Pour in the yogurt and mix well. Allow mushrooms to cook.


9. Season with salt and add mint leaves.


10. Finally, add washed basmati rice and 2.5 cups of water.


11. If using a pressure cooker, cook for two whistles. If cooking in a pan, cover and cook until rice is fully cooked.


12. Once done, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your flavorful Mushroom Biryani!
